The mille has no name.
The monti with the blue polyps also does not have a name. Hope that helps. |

I have a mini colony (it's like 3x3") of the blue polyped monti. After a run in with a (thank goodness it was only one) monti eating nudi, I did an iodine dip and freshwater dip (oops) on it. The polyps have since turned green and the base looks like it's bleaching. This was a few months ago. Any tips on how I may restore this guy to his original beauty?
Thanks!

Just give it some stability and time; it'll eventually come back.

The monti with the Blue Polyps is being called the Blue Flame Monti at ultimatefrags. If it's not the same, it's really close.
Beautiful coral as are all that have been pictured here. Quote:

neyugn0w01,
Thanks for the 4 awesome frags! The Cypastreas are already encrusting the rocks. My bro and I didn't know you threw in the monti either.

Can somebody help me out with ID of the coral in the 5th pic on the first page. I got a piece at a swap, that was supposed to be "blue tort". When I got it, it was pale beige with slightly green polyps, but it has colored up to the same look as pic 5, but with a notable green shimmer to the flesh.
Here is a pic: |

What ever it is, Its an awesome coral !
It looks very similar to the Blue tort, I wouldn't be surprised if it was. I have a small blue tort frag as well, But the blue on mine is much more vibrant, and no green. The polyps on mine are also Blue as well. |

I want to see a full tank shot also. I am debating on getting an all t5 canopy (Currently 3x 150W 14K pHoeonix's and 4Actinic PC's) for my 180. I am torn... but man.. those colors! FTS please!

The tank has been neglected due to being out of town. I will post a FTS in a few months including 3 new pieces I got from fragfarmers. Currently fighting a funky algae and bubble algae outbreak. The corals seem to look much more colorful but the tank is an eyesore to look at. I guess not sticking my hand in there constantly is beneficial.

What size tank is this? I saw where it is 24" deep, but didn't see any other dimensions. The corals are beautiful and was curious as to the tank size.

I ave been trying to get a solid ID on the Blue Tort pictured above. It wasw suggested that it might be a Roscoe's, but there is no way, this thing is nowhere near a Roscoe's, it's not even shaggy and Roscoe's are nothing like this dark blue and purple. I was searching around a lot of different sites and found something frighteningly similar to mine. I just want to post up the pic and get opinions. The one pictured IS a blue tort and the description states that the one pictured has developed green pigmentation in the polyps....
See what y'all think.... It's about the only one I have happened upon with the green shimmer and polyp coloration. Thanks, Mitch |

I put the same question on the website for my club, who put on the swap, and have been told that it is probably ORA Blue tort, but I've NEVER seen one this wickedly colored.
I lean more toward Tyree's Becker tort...it is pictured beautifully on Atlantis: http://www.atlantisaquarium.net/images/fragsbeck.jpg and also on Reef Farmers (who have fantastic frags, but let's get real). Their site doesn't pull items up by IRL addresses, but it does discuss the green polyps.... |
