Exclamation One Of A Kind Zebra Tang!

I am selling an ULTRA RARE Zebra Tang! This fish is incredible, it is around 5" long, and it has the most amazing coloration, a charcoal black body, with a stark white tail! No one has seen this tang before! wetwebmedia said

Hi, I just purchased a "Purple Tang" from a local reefer who is switching gears from a reef to predator system.

They sold me what they called a Purple Tang, but in actuality it's a Black Tang with a white tail!

at first I assumed that the coloration was due to the fact that it may have been stressed, but it has maintained these colors throughout the day, only changing to a lighter grey at night. Have you ever heard of or seen a tang like this?

Attached are two pictures that show the coloration.

And a picture of the white tail

Thanks,

Caleb Kruse

I also asked Dr. Ron Shimek and he didn't know either.

Here are some pictures

A picture of its head

A full tang shot,

And a picture of its body and white tail,

With nobody having seen this tang before, it's a great addition to any collectors aquarium. Rarer than both the gem, and black tang I think that $250 is a very good price.

I hate to sell this beautiful tang, but it is too large for my 90g aquarium, and I need funds for a tank upgrade, and coral immune system research.

I will ship at buyers expense from 80908. Serious inquires only.

Thank You,
Caleb Kruse

I just decided that I will drop the price to $194, and include an orange, and a watermelon ricordia yuma.

If my 210 was up and cycled, I'd buy it, but I only have a 40 breeder for now holding my stock, and I cant put the tang in that...

Damn!

if nobody buys it by the time you get the 210 cycled, which is unlikely but possible, You've got first dibs.

There is nothing rare about that tang I have seen several black tangs that have the grey look instead of the true black look with the greyish white tail many think its a vitiamn defiency issue .Also have seen purple tangs that took on a greyish look with white tails again vitamin defiency. I have also read about hybrid purple tangs looking like that but its still cool looking fish my 0.2

Color defect I have seen those purple tang who go through thi usually they turn a grayier color but still the white tail is in both. personally the price isn't bad considering the rarity of the color defect. Think of it as a natural onyx clownfish. It would be hard for me to sell something like that.

ned2getfish, I don't think this is a Vitamn Deficiency because I feed it so well. I feed a mix of mysis shrimp, seaworm supreme, and formula 1 food, plus 2 varieties of seaweed pretty much all day.

fishnerd, Pretty dissapointing about the world series, but I got to see alot of the guys I've worked for down at the AAA team play. And we won the NL. I'll work on getting some better pictures of him tonight. It's hard to get good pictures, because it's always moving.

black_majik, Thanks for the compliment, but I'm just trying to get some money for a tank upgrade.

That is an Acanthurus blochii...

My LFS has two of them, for $30 each.

But notice that the Acanthurus blochii doesn't have a white tail, and its body shape is different.

I don't really mind if people do this, I don't want to sell somebody something that is just a common tang, or has a disease/nutritional deficiency.

they might be mislabeled, but definetly the fish they are selling as such matches the above pictures... maybe aqua hobbies can even send you some pics of the ones they have.

Also , The black tangs have really long noses like a yellow tang. In the pic it looks to have the round mouth.

DrBegalke, I don't want to make you mad or anything but your going to get this thread closed. I know you think its a blochii tang, and everyone else thinks its not, it will just go back and forth from now on.

Here are some more pics
