Alright - another difference story for y'all that I just remembered a few moments ago. I thought this was pretty strange too, down there I swear everything must have a number attached to it. If they're talking about directions or going somewhere it kinda sounds like this "We'll take the 302 over to the 101 and take the 326 exit." You NEVER hear something like that around here! So I asked what channel it was on and she said channel 5. You never hear about something being on "channel 5" or "channel 2" around here. You always refer to a channel by the call sign, WGN, ABC, NBC, CNN. Even our radio stations we refer to by the call sign KROE, KYTI, etc.
LOL, we're hicks dino! Kind of like telling someone how far it is to Salt Lake. You and I would say "about an hour" City people would tell you it's 78 miles.

I really don't think it matters whether you are hicks or city folk. In Hawaii, it makes no difference if a place is 1 mile or 20 miles away, it just matters how bad traffic is or what the roads are like. You remember what it is like driving the road to Hana, Debi. Less than 30 miles but it takes a good three hours.

Well that's a whole nother story there. And that was a real good road compared to the one around the NW edge of the island.

Ha - where i grew up they give directions by family farms and such - Turn beside Ol'Wilsons Farm then go to the spot where that oak tree burned bout 5 years ago and take a right..........

now that I live in the "developed" part of the area we have named streets and numbered and sometimes both.

HAHHA.. Well ya, you have to use freeway numbers around here.. LOL.. Just to get to work I take 580 to 238 to 880 to 92 to 101 north to exit off of Grand.. You can't just say take the freeway, there are tooooo many.

Any yes, refering to call numbers for the TV is not normal here..

I really wish I would have taken my own camera, there would have been 100 pics by now, no one cares if you are off center in a pic, they just want to see the pics..

Joes Crab shack is OK, they dance there, like just break out into dance when certain songs come on. Their Hush Puppies are awesome though....

Putting "THE" in front of the highway numbers is considered a Southern California thing.
