Well, I kinda doubt it, Colleen. But I'll reach into my box of bulbs and switch it out tonight and see if the remainders suddenly change their minds and live.

Btw, today's PO4 reading was .1 to .5 (kinda hard to read it under kitchen lighting).

Anyone got a Tucker Catcher I can borrow?

Nick, I asked a friend of mine that has a zoas-infested tank if he'd take him. It is 300g. Plenty of room.

A fellow reefer asked me if I would explain my treatment for pinched mantle with Prazi Pro in detail and I figure it's better to post it here for everyone to see:

Upon receiving a clam near the 1st of June (small 1.5 inch croacea) I discovered what I observed to be pinched mantle. This was confirmed when the tank he was sold from had a gigas die from pinched mantle. The clam did not look like it was doing terribly but in order to head the problem off at the pass if you will, I began researching methods of treatment. FW dips will help the clam out for several days but the infection usually returns within a week. I know I took a huge risk (my tank has extreme flow and is all SPS and that small croacea along with a large 6 inch one. The 6 inch clam showed no signs of infection but I wanted to rid the water column of the infection as well. I read somewhere (I honestly can't remember where but I imagine it was on clamsdirect's forum) that people had sucess with prazipro. I read the label of the bottle and it claimed to kill fluke (the infection is a type of protozoan) and was totally reef safe. I have a 30 gallon aquarium with a 10 gallon sump for reference but used whatever the recommended dose was, I believe 1 tablespoon. I turned my skimmer off for 6 hours then adjusted it down when I took it back online (Euroreef CS6-1). Within the next day, the clam was the most expanded it had been and within two days was out like a normal happy clam should be. I experienced no side effects save the skimmer going a little crazy and it's now been 3 weeks with no sign of the infection returning. Oh, also I added the dosage only once and to the overflow to give it a maximum mixing time before going into the tank. Hope this helps and let me know if I can do anything else for you!

*I'd also like to include a list of the corals and critters that were unaffected by the medication (it supposedly kills flatworms as well )
-Various fish including a Potter's Angel, chalk basslet, and yellow assessor
-Shrimp including cleaner and peppermint
-Various hermits and an emerald crab
-Snails (Astrea, Turbo, Cerith)
-Acropora species including torts, stags, and a small tabling frag
-Montiporas
-Blastos
-Zooanthids and Palythoas of various colors

I'll test the water tomorrow. The skimmer has 2" of skimmate in it from last night. Time to clean it out again.

Judging by the hermits, snails, coral skeleton, and pavona cactus I can see in the shot..... - it's gonna be about 5-6" W X 5-6"L - am I close?

I'll grab a ruler, but I'm not pulling it out as it has just been through enough handling recently.

Picked up another coral today, and will be getting some type of acro tomorrow. A birdsnest was added on Wednesday night too.

Okay, it is 6.5" x 4.5" x 3" in size. A very nice piece.

I just posted full tank shots one page ago. It won't be all that different with these few additions.

Here is the new coral I got today. It is another closed-brain coral, or maybe two. I'm even wondering if maybe it is micromussa but I just don't know. There are actually three things on this one rock. The brown stuff in the center is currently unknown.

The birdsnest frag I got. Honestly, I didn't want a frag because after waiting four months for some good growth, typically the next day after I'm really pleased it RTN's. PooF! Game over.

However, this club member told me he'd give me a decent piece. I brought it home carefully as it is quite brittle. After floating it in the sump for a while, I removed it from the bag. I noticed two branches were at the bottom of the bag and needed to be glued onto the rock. Moving to the kitchen, I placed the coral on some paper towel and got my fragging kit. I reached for another couple of paper towels to blot off the wet areas before gluing, and as I tugged the towels off the roll, it snagged the coral and sent it flying onto the hard tile kitchen floor. ARGH! Now I had 20 pieces instead of a nice piece. 20 minutes later (and a little cursing), I ended up with this.

And my Fungia (plate coral) continues to do well. They are so crowded on the old skeleton that I bet I'll end up with several plates one day.

You can see more babies coming out in this somewhat blurry shot. Shooting at an angle through the glass is never good.
