Thanks, one last question (I promise ) How many gallons does a yellow tang need, I'm asking because I have heard alot of different answers.

You will get a million different opinions on the never ended tang debate ...
I have a 120 and was told I should have a Yellow Tang since my tank is only 4 feet long but yet you will see people with 55 gallons having multiple tangs. To house a show size yellow tang (4-5 years old) you will need a 6 foot tank but if you buy them small like mostly everyone does (I dont know anyone who purchases show sized tangs) then you wont have to worry about it outgrowing the tank for another 4-5 years. BUT as said before it is rare for someone to buy the showsize tang from you so your kinda stuck with it. In the end its all up to you ... If you think in 4 years you will have a bigger tank or you will have someone to give it to then by all means get one. If I wanted a Yellow tang in my tank I would get one even thoughmy tank cant house it for an entire lifespan, it depends what your future plans are for the fish or how bad you want it.

Nice tank but I have a few questions ...
I see you have a tube anemone. Does it come out during the day? I heard they only come out at night and hide in there tube during the day. In the 2nd picture inbetween the bubble coral and yellow gonipora or the 3rd picture directly above the yellow tang ... are those polps zoo's or palys? They look pretty big so I wasnt sure.

Thanks, tinyreef. That "mushroom effect" is more of a plague than anything! I've rearranged things a little, so I'll try to add some updated pics soon.
There are some great softie tanks here! Great thread! |

You all have some wonderful looking tanks! I'll play along too.
I have started dabbling with SPS a little, as you will see. I have been seriously thinking about getting rid of the SPS and going all soft and LPS. Full tank shot: Left side of tank: Right side of tank: I suck at using my digital camera as well. The tank is much brighter than this in person, but I don't know how to get the camera to show the true coloration with the halides on.
