My basement was so humid a few years ago that I was growing mushrooms from the foam on the old weight bench

Congrats on the new toy I can help if you need an extra hand...or I can just sit around, drink and bleed too

People with big tanks and excessive humidity. It removes humidity while retaining the heat in the house during the winter months. That is a simple explanation.

Sure is.

They bring in fresh air that goes through a heat exchanger that retains approximately 80% of the heat contained in the outgoing humid air.

Also help with keeping pH a bit more stable because of the incoming fresh air.

The new hrv has been running about 3 days now and already the wet windows are gone. I felt like Nook sitting around watching Capo work but I dont have a clue on sideing and tin work. He did a top notch job even the wife is happy.

It feels about 15 degrees cooler in the basment also.

This is the stale are intake.

Here is the cold are intake.

The hrv itself.

Wouldn't it also help with excessive CO2? I have heard that as a cause of low pH you can open a window, so is that what helps keep the PH stable Greg?

You meant a MONTH or two right?? When I get the $10000 tip I have mine done in a DAY or two!

Seriously though, very cool to hear. I'm anxious to see how it works long term. Pleae keep us posted John.

Howie, yes it will help with the CO2 issues also. It will prevent ph falling as far from build up of stale air.
