Welcome back, boviac. I think you need to read about 200 pages to get fully caught up on my 'new' tank.

I have major medical insurance, but not regular heath as I can't afford that either. So if I end up going to a hospital for something noteworthy, I'll have some financial backing to fall upon.

Headaches I've had many a time. What happened last night and about 6 months ago was way different. If I can just lie back and close my eyes and it goes away, you won't see me posting about it. But when you are curled up in the dark rocking back and forth and wondering if it will ever go away, that's a little different.

I have a friend that has horrible migraines and he told me it was like someone sticking a spoon through your skull into your brain, and the flicking the handle of the spoon repeatedly. That sounds worse than what I went through, fortunately for me.

I was just kidding, I know how serious it can be. There was an article not too long ago that was relating migraines to a heart disorder. More research was required, but they ran into the discovery through medical research in another area. Wish I could find that link...

I used to have migraines a lot before I got me wisdom teeth pulled. Now I only get them from certain fragrances.

I'll see if I can find a link for the migraine thing, so your not having an anxiety attack about your heart

Marc, they have migrane medicine pills that may help you. They cost like $10 a pill, but it may help with something so severe. I would def talk to your Dr. about that.

My Mom suffered from migraines for over a year. She would sometimes have 2 a day! We live in Ohio and she was sent to the Cleveland Clinic. They looked at all the tests she had done (including a stress test which came back normal) and said they didn't have any other tests to try. They started her on a new medication Neurontin. A week later she was having heart symptoms. We took here to ER then she was admitted. They did a heart cath a few days later and said she needed stents. She was sent to Miami Valley in Dayton where the cath was read by another Dr. and found she needed 4 bypasses! They could only do 3 because the fourth was the size of a thread and had already started branching out on it's own. They did the bypass surgery the next morning and she has not had a headache since! Even the Cleveland Clinic said the headaches should have nothing to do with her heart. I guess they were wrong huh?

I had migraines for years. I had my gallbladder removed a few years ago and haven't had a migraine since.

Mine re-mapped itself. I couldn't read, write, do math, or even walk in a straight line. Then as my brain re-mapped, uninjured areas took over for the injured areas, and now I am fairly well recovered, well except for being an a-hole now.

Marc,

I also get really really bad migraines from time to time and the pain really is indescribable. Couple that with being really disoriented and you have a terrible combination. My favorite migraines are the ones that make you puke, because your head hurts so bad and you're spinning around.

Did you get an "aura" before the migraine? That's my true trigger that I know if looking forward it looks like the papparazzi just took some shots of me, the big one if well on the way. Relpax and loads of Aleve works well for me FYI, but I've also been catscanned, neurologist, etc.

Feel better man, I also know how even the day after, you still feel weird.

I've been told (or maybe read) that too much Naproxen is dangerous to our stomach linings, but then again it seems like everything is, right? So I'm a little more leery about taking Alleve compared to Ibuprofen. I probably should have taken the former last night though, but I really don't know what is too much of a particular pain killer. The three pills I took at 6pm when it was getting bad enough that I figured I'd need a little assistance was all I took.

I didn't get that aura that you (and that article) mentioned. Something fun to look forward to one day, I guess. Thanks for the well-wishes.

Wow! Not much else to say other than it's a perfect way to judge success despite the few issues! I'm very impressed!

Beautiful pics, Marc. Glad you're feeling better. Just so you know, naproxen (Aleve) and ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil) are both potentially irritating to your stomach lining. They both can cause ulcers so you need to be cautious with them, especially if you tend to use them a lot. Watch for issues like heartburn, stomach upset, and cramping after you take them which may be an indication that you're having adverse effects. Tylenol doesn't have those side effects but causes its own problems (liver toxicity) if you overuse it as well (over 3000 - 4000 mg/day) - under that, it's a remarkable safe medication. So yes, you just can't win. Sympathies for all of those with migraines - those are not fun. (shudder)
