i agree dont buy anything without researching it out first for yourself.
My lfs said goniopora was a beginner to moderate coral sou i buy it and learn that even the experienced reefer doesnt exactly know what this coral need to keep it alive and it has a 2 out of 10 survival rate.

If you don't have an ample-sized tank to house this guy, perhaps a better option would be to return it to the LFS for exchange or store credit. Just a suggestion though.

i agree with K9 -- they need lots of open space to kinda glide around, they don't need to be in a tank with lots of rock...

fellows,

don't be so critical of the question asked. He is learning as we did.

Critical? I wasn't being critical in the least. I made a helpful suggestion that would benefit himself and the fish as well .

I thought they were absolutely charming about it myself (not to mention he preempted his comment with an apology no less... this is not exactly a soccer game where "everyone wins!" I feel a soccer mom moment coming on..

I would imagine from the rather small size the guy is currently, he may have some time to find him a suitable home anyway. .

The LFS is just going to give him to the next guy with the cash anyway. Be nice to know the fish survived..

Cool looking guy btw (dactyloptena orientalis looks more correct as it has the whip antennae)
