Need Skimmer Help!

Hello All,

I just got a 75 Gallon Reef Ready AGA and have built a 20L sump to go with it. After careful consideration, I have narrowed down my skimmer choices to 4:

Octopus 150 extreme
Coralife Superskimmer 125
Euroreef RS 80
Euroreef RS 100

My bio load will eventually be fairly high as this will be a reef tank.
Which skimmer is the best for my setup?

Is there a better skimmer in my price range that I am missing?

Thanks!

Tunze 9010 would work well in that size tank

I'd pass on the tunze if you have enough room for the extreme 150 or rs100. Take a look at the MSX160 from marinesolutionsinc.com It looks to be much nicer than all three.

I would get the msx160, it is a new skimmer so you might want to wait for some reviews.

I would recommend the RS-100. Have had very good luck with ER skimmers and their prices are fair (IMO).

MSX160 looks great but a little higher than my budget allows. The Euro reef is a blem for $200. The Octo 150 is the least expensive. I really need the best bang for the buck!

Well, lets compare the skimmers here in question.

Octo Extreme 150- $200, 6" diameter at 20" tall, 450lph air 38w

ES100 $287 6" diameter at 20" tall, 420lph air, 28w

MSX160 $299 6.5" diameter at 23" tall, 1331lph air, 30w

Not much of a decision here is there. The ER is at the bottom of the list imo.
