Good Experience with Midwest Reefs

Over the weekend, I placed an order for 4 Fiji Aquacultured Acroporas from Midwest Reefs. I normally, don't buy livestock on-line or from new companies, the the prices were right so I took that chance. I am glad that I did.

On Monday, I received both an email and a phone call (at work) from Steve at Midwest. He stated that he had some temerature fluctuations in his Fiji tank over the weekend and one of the corals I had ordered was not looking good and he did not feel comfortable shipping it.

He offered a number of options from cancelling the entire order to receiving the corals he felt would ship safely. I decided to go ahead and get the three Acros that he felt were safe to ship and Steve even offered to throw in a Bali Aquacultured Acro for free to make up for the inconvienience.

I received the shipment and Tuesday and all corals were well packed, insulated and in great shape. All had polyp extension within a few hours of being placed in my tank and looked great.

I expected the free Bali Acro, to be just a plain jane brown coral, but man was I wrong. It is a beautiful purple Acro and I was extremely pleased with the color.

Then today, I received a call from Steve to see if the corals shipped and how they were doing. Talk about great customer service Unfortunately, I was a bit rushed at work when he called, so I didn't have much time to chat (sorry Steve).

Overall, despite a little hiccup, I am very happy with the order and will definitely place an order with Midwest Reefs again. Steve is obviously all about making the customer happy and taking care of the animals in his store. In speaking with him, he is very friendly and very knowledgable about the hobby.

Thanks again Steve and I am sure I will be ordering again soon.
