Do I need kalkwasser?
About to set up a Ca reactor and hate the thought of having to dose kalwasser in addition to the reactor for stable high PH. Is anybody getting good SPS results with a stand alone Ca reactor? Wondering if I can get by with simply adding KH/pH buffer to my top off water or better yet, do nothing to the top off water and stabilize my PH with the Ca reactor alone?
Thanks |

A calcium reactor will be able to maintain Calcium and Alkalinity for a 90 gal by itself with not problem, just by a reactor for a lot larger tank as it seems that many are over rated by the manufacturers. Try to get a second chamber one so your PH does not drop much at night.
If you have a refugium and you have it on reverse cycle you will have a less of a PH swing.
