NARC meetings through the end of the year

Well, November is halfway gone and we've set no date for a November meeting. December will be tough scheduling for many people. Perhaps we can come up with a date and an idea for a joint meeting for these two months?

We have:
Saturday Nov 17 - that's THIS week!
(Thanksgiving)
Saturday Dec 1
Saturday Dec 8
Saturday Dec 15
(and then after that, right into the holidays)

Since everyone is busy during the holidays, what about a club holiday lunch out at a restaurant or similar? Anyone have any other ideas?

I think a lunch out at a resturant is a great idea.

Well, with a whopping 8 votes we seem to be leaning toward the 8th.

Any comments? Suggestions?

You're barking up the wrong tree if you expect the newbie in town to have the vaguest idea about where we might meet.

If people wanted to come to Guntersville, I know the manager at Top O' River but they only do supper on sat. Another place is Cracker Barrel in Madison. I also know someone who works there. If we decide on a resturant we would need a head count.

Mark me down as coming, I'm not a member as of yet. I plan on joining NARC.
I just purchased a 54 g bow corner from CRA. I'm in the middle of building a sump/fuge for it right now. Thanks!!

It seems like not, since no one appears to be interested or has any ideas. After about this time, people start getting pretty busy, but I'm still open for a meeting if other people are.

I am interested, but I am tied up this weekend. Any one interested in getting together on 15th by any chance? I have a few reef related DVD's that some of you newer members may be interested in seeing....

Here's the list of DVD's I have:

Eric Borneman's Reef Aquarium Myths: Tales from the Dark Side
Dr. Sanjay Joshi - Reef Lighting
Dr. Ron Shimek - Sand Bed Organisms & Relations Found in Sand Beds and Myth-takes about Sand Beds
Randy Reed - Culturing Rotifers & Cope Pods
Allen LaPointe - Dissolved Gases
Anthony Calfo - Coral Farming
Adam Blundell - Locomotive Patterns in Reef Fishes
Charles Mazel - Underwater fluorescence

NARC also has a few DVD's from 2004 (or 2005?) MACNA which are kept at CRA for any of you to check out.

Hi gobiewan,

I am glad you enjoyed the pictures.

I don't know if we decided to have December meeting in any particular place yet. If we are not settled on a place by mid next week, I suppose you guys can come over to my place to watch the DVD's. People have to sit closely around my TV (32") since it is not one of those big screen TV's.

Does anyone with a big TV willing to open up their house for the meeting on 15th? I can bring Lazagne or something for lunch if anyone likes to let us use his/her TV and DVD player.

Sounds like 15th is okay for a few of us. Shall we have it in the afternoon? We can meet over coffee and cookies.

Anytime after about 3pm is okay for me, or I may come by later if you start earlier.
