Just dropping in

I haven't posted here for awhile now, just dropping in and thought I'd say hello... Especially to SBSB, Thrlride, and JoeyChitwood.

I've been busy with a bunch of stuff going on but things are slowing down and my tank has been neglected, not too much but I'd like to have done more. I'm going to be moving soon and setting up a new 240 gallon tank so I'm excited about that and wanted to started getting back into the hobby full swing. I couldn't come back after a long reprieve without saying hi, sorry for the useless post!

Anything new going on with you guys?

Thanks, moving just do a differen't house with less rent so we can start saving to buy a house. The way housing prices are I don't see how I can afford to buy one in the future. The house we live in isn't special by any stretch of the imagination and it was $340K when we moved in 2.5 years ago. Now it was appraised at about $600K. That scares the **** out of me because I don't make that much money and there is no way I could afford a $400-500K 2 bedroom house right now. And being that I'm 21 with questionable credit I couldn't even get a loan probably. Anyways, I want a place with low rent but not a bad neighborhood so we can start saving and if it takes us 2 years to save up for a 20% down payment or something and an average house around here is $700K then we will just have to move to another state or something. I don't know how the housing costs are moving up so fast.

That's why we are moving, not far but I don't want to set up a new tank and have to take it back down. For almost the last year I've been in business for myself and it's been good at times and bad at others, so now I'm almost done with doing stuff to the car which was my excuse for not going back out and getting a job so I'll probably do that now too. That's all that's been going on with me!

The car looks different now...

How is the truck? Did you ever get that new dual exhaust setup?

I installed a high-flow air system, a Superchips computer download at the Performance setting and a dual cat-back exhaust. I gained about 50 hp, markedly improved performance and acceleration, and best of all, my mileage went from 13 to 15.5 mpg.

Wow, $400K for a two bedroom house? Where do you live? Sounds like CA or NY prices to me!!!! Bought our house six years ago and it's doubled in value - it's gotten a bit tight for all of us, but I can't afford to upgrade, despite the equity. Don't know how young folks do it these days. Insane!!!!!

We live in California, wine country. Everything is more expensive but it's not like San Francisco where the average income is $100-200K The average income here is like $40k I think most people here are just in debt up to their ears or bought their houses 5 years ago when you could get a nice house for $200k.

I'm starting to worry, I haven't seen SBSB post lately. Is he okay? I remember he was working on some things, hopefully he's doing well.

Hopefully he didn't kill himself in his vette either!

What if I sing a song? Sure, you guys won't hear it, but it's the thought that counts.

bmcelhinn, How's it going!

Steve goes by Steve B now. I pm'd him a few weeks ago to check up on him and he is doing good. Still on the wagon but having a hard time. The holiday was hard on him.

Glad to see you post again, I was wondering what happened. Pretty much the last posts you did were when the guy hit your dog, I was wondering if you were locked up, LOL.

Everything is cool here. Just bought a new house. To rub salt in your wound, the house we bought is almost 2800 square feet and 200k. Much different on this end of the world!

Your supra is looking great! I like the rims you have on it now. Body kit is cool too.

Hope everything is well with you, your wife and daughter!

Ryan

Thanks man! great deal on the house. I'll PM Steve...

Supra doesn't have a body kit, that's just a rod millen lip on the front. I also did that hood which only weighs 10 lbs, and a bunch of performance stuff. It's at about 500 horsepower to the wheels now, but when I install the fuel system I can run more boost and make about 700hp

The wife is great, she got her first job now that our daughter is almost 2 and doesn't need as much attention. Alanna (our daughter) is soooo funny. She always makes me smile when I'm in a bad mood or something. She's talking a lot now, her first words were actually Mamma, Dadda, FISH, and Supra. She totally takes after me. Here are some more pics.

Very cute girl! Our daughters must be very close in age, mine just turned two in January.

I saw the hood and the different front clip and immediatly thought more had been done. It looks great though!
