Unhappy I'll miss her

Police and firefighters used ATVs to search for a missing Ambler ninth-grader Sunday morning. Then on Sunday afternoon, investigators received information that brought them to a yard on the 1300 block on Union Meeting Road in Blue Bell, investigators said. Outside they found in a tree line a body they believe is the 14-year-old honor student, Ebony Dorsey.

"To those parents out there who are still fortunate enough to have their children with them, hold them a little closer. Tell them that you love them. Tell them that you love them while you have chance. Because as hurt as I am, one thing that I thank God for is that the last time I saw my daughter, I took the opportunity to tell her that I loved her," Evan Dorsey said.

Ebony Dorsey, 14, was last seen with her mother’s boyfriend, Mark O'Donnell, 47, as she left home to baby-sit for his daughter at Plymouth Rock Apartments in Plymouth Meeting on Thursday night. Police said they briefly questioned O'Donnell. He has since disappeared. Investigators now call O'Donnell a suspect.

Investigators said O'Donnell said he brought Ebony home at 6 a.m. on Friday in time to get to school, but she never made it.

"He is the only person that makes sense. That's pretty much what it boils down to. There's no other explanation, and being as though he was the last person we know who saw her, we want him in to answer some questions," Danielle Cattie, Ebony's mother, said.

Police want O'Donnell to answer some questions, as well. They said the house where the body was found belongs to a relative of O'Donnell's.

Police ask that anyone who has seen O'Donnell, or knows his whereabouts, to call 911.

Ebony was in my math class. She was funny and smart to boot. It's terrible that something like this could happen.

R.I.P Ebony. My prayers are with you, and Gary will be by your side.

what a horrible thing to have happened. I am so worried about my kids and this is why I try to keep them as close as possible w/o smothering them with too much worry

I am so very sorry that you and your classmates have lost a friend.

I'm sorry. I'll never be able to understand why some people harm our innocents.
