Green Hairy Mushroom Q: Pink Thead Exuded

I recently aquired a Green Hairy Mushroom. After a few days I reached into the tank to move the mushroom slightly and it exuded a pink thread-like material in response. After 30-60 minutes, the threading receeded back into its mouth.

Does anyone know what the pink threading is?

Thanks!

Those are its guts, the movement probably stressed it a bit so it expelled them. Nothing to worry about.

I wonder why they expel their "guts" so easily?

Mushrooms are very hardy corals but they do not like to be moved around just the same as all corals He was just showing you his digust with the move haha

Agreed, it's a normal stress response.

does it still look healthy? Is your flow directly on it? if so you should put him(it) in indirect flow.

It still looks healthy. The treads retract after a bit. It looks like it might be spitting now but am not sure.

Would anyone happen to have pics of theirs splitting? Or could describe the it (the stages)?

Typically when they split you'll see a second mouth appear before the split. It takes a couple weeks for the split to complete.
