Question New ORP Probe came dry - is it still good?

I just got an Pinpoint ORP meter and probe and the probe was bone dry in the little bottle on the end. (the sponge in there was completely dry)

Are ORP probes like PH probes? Is the ORP probe no good now?

With only one point of calibration it is hard to know if it is good or not.

Thanks

is it the type with a little clear ball at the end or just with a metal pin?
if its with the clear ball i would not feel safe using it. thats how most pH probes are.
if its the one with a metal pin, mine came dry also and its still good. its just a matter of calibrating it right. i also dip my orp probe in vinegar once a month or it wont read ORP right. i dip it for 5 min. if i don't. the reading will show higher and high after couple of weeks.

Was it new? Not very knowledgeable with this topic, but do know used probes are not meant to be left dry.

Edit: Maddai it took you long enough ... for a minute there I was hoping somebody can chime in and help me gain some knowledge on this

It was new and it was the type with the little pin

I did go ahead and calibrate with the 400mv solution, it was about 30 off last night and put it in the tank.

Like what I understand is std with these it started out way low in the tank 120ish, is up to about 200 now and will likely by tonight sometime tomorrow "settle in" to the right number.

Thanks for the monthly cleaning tip. I had also heard to calibrate it monthly which will also help in cleaning it so I will likely do some amount of both.

Thanks again
