I remember reading that thread all the way through to the end. It looks like a page or two have been added, so I will have to catch up. I love that thread.

What about the toxicity of Aluminum that Randy touched on that can leach back into the aquarium?
Randy do you suggest a specific brand?

Phosguard which is based on activated alumina. GFOs (Phosban, Rowaphos, PhosR and similar) are not aluminum based but iron oxide hydroxide based

I don't suggest a specific brand of GFO, but I do prefer it to other types of phosphate binders.

just ordered some phospure from drf&s, coming saturday, hope its good stuff. The day after i ordered it(wednesday), they upped the price by like 2 dollars...weirdos

The question of whether or not you need to run a phosban reactor if you are running a fuge and or dsb with mangroves.
It was felt that there would be a point when the phosban reactor would be removing too much nutrients and starve off the chaeto ect in the fuge?
Any comments?
