This was the last of the Non-Indo frags to peel off the skeleton. This pic is from around September 2005.

I lost it around December 05

By October 05, Non-Indo lords were phasing out, and Micromussa where squeezing in.

Dec 05

I guess that's the end of the tale. Sorry if I went off track a little. It's been a while since I've seen some of those old pics.

Love those old pics Randy, how is the red with green center lord doing? Did it peel out on you also?

Off track? I could simply sit here all day and just stare in amazement at those corals Randy. Simply amazing...

Randy, When you say peel off the skeleton do you mean full polyp bail-out or tissue recession?

I am almost positive Randy is talking about polyp bail out.

I lost 3 frags just like that. I have pretty much one frag with about 10 polyps left, was 3 polyps when I got it. It's been over 2 years. They seems to be very slow grower or I'm not doing something right. Do you guys have the same experience?

Some say polyp bail out due to low magnesium levels, who knows the real reason.

The red with Green center has been struggling lately. It was growing strong the first year. But then the coralline algae covered the frag rock, and the Acan looked like it was having trouble growing over the coralline. So it started growing a hanging foot. It was like a polyp growing out and hanging over the coralline. I tried to cut a couple of them off, but never got any to live myself. I did send one off so maybe he had better luck.

My piece is still alive, but it does not look nearly as good anymore. My tank overall has not been looking good. I think I'd be too embarrassed to show current pics.

When I was talking about the polyps peeling off, it was polyp bail out. I had full polyps floating around my frag tank. I tried to glue them down, but without a skeleton they just slimmed off the glue. I had one floating around for a few months.

It was almost 5AM when I typed this out last night and I made a few mistakes. This segment had two of the same pics, but I fixed it now.

Sorry, I have no non-indo eye candy to contribute, but a random theory...

I read somewhere most non-indo lords were from Japan. I also read the waters there are cooler than most areas our corals are commonly collected from. Is it possible that these systems are run at a higher temp than these corals prefer? What temp are you guys keeping your systems at that had polyp bail out?

Hehe, I have to sneak in a little gratuitous harrassment as well, for Randy, I have never dreamed of asking you to put them on the glass...Just sure glad you did!
