what makes a belief true? um...belief...only the ones who believe think its true...haha bad answer but it makes since to me.

How about....Basically no belief is believed to be true...only as true as each believer wishes it to be. The believers believe that if they believe in the belief, that its true and others will view the believers belief as the true belief and in turn believe in the original believers belief was correct while there old belief was wrong to believe in and the secondary believer now believes and the belief chain continues to other believers until the belief is so changed from the old belief that the original belief is now a new belief and the original believer is now the new believer of the new belief of the old believer, who changed the first belief into the new belief and that’s how its fact....

ok yea...i dont know what any of that means...AT ALL but it makes as good since as any other answer to these kinda questions...

How's this?
The fact that it is believed makes it a fact, and therefore true.
Even if it is wrong it is true because it exists.

(Bear in mind I was a head-banger as a child.)

I honestly believe that the best way to relax is play beer pong for 2 hours...others disagree. A belief isnt ALWAYS true...

but mine is...go play a couple games...everyone wins! You win you brag, you lose you get drunk

Well they were two very bad accidents on I-395 yesterday, one north bound and another south bound. Luckily I was on the HOV lanes and was not affected by the accidents. For thousands of people they were stuck for hours on end.

pretty good resonses....in the end there is no such thing as a true belief. to make a belief "true", which we will define of necessity as "demonstable or provable to another" there must be evidence, and if there is evidence then it must be empirical. if it's empirical, then the scientific method has been used, and it is a provable, repeatable demonstrable "fact", and no longer a belief.

beliefs are very ephemeral...faith is faith, fact is fact. the two things never cross paths...

faith brings us religion...(ultimately it always does...)

fact (via the scientific method) brings us electricity, microwaves, fuel injection, MH lights, efficient safe mass flight (i.e. widebody jets), MP3's, clean water.....the list is very long...

it is for the reader to choose thier preference.
