Question Am I crazy...........

My friends think so.

I told them that I wanted to move to another country, Lebanon.

I have been there a few times and loved it. People live the good life there. I was thinking of renting properties here and live off the income over seas. The average worker makes $300 a month there, so if I could generate at least $4000 a month in income I would be living like a king. My parents already own a couple homes there, one in the mountains and an apartment next to the beach in Beirut.

You guys think Im crazy?

Never been there so don't know much about it.

Met many lebanese people on a flight to Armenia once, they seem pretty cool, down to earth, etc.

You sure you can fit in there though ? you know being an american and all with all the stuff going on in that part of the world.

If yes, I say why not ? Go for it. And how were you planning on making a living there ?

Could be interesting. A lot too depends on the climate there. Can you handle it? Maybe something to look into before you two start thinking about having kids. That way if you want to come back, you can. Just be settled down for good when you start to have them. But hey, at 24, you've got a ways to go. Had my kid at 36.

Yes I have visited the whole country.
From the crowded capital with its beautiful beaches to the snow capped mountains.

What about Sand?

There are no deserts in Lebanon if that is what you are implying.

It looks beautiful and its closer to the Red Sea than Michigan. Just think of all the travel options. If you have dual citizenship, carry your Lebanese passport and keep your US passport in a safe deposit box. Sounds great, try it, don't have kids right away, get acclimated and if you don't like it, you're young, return here. The ugliest words in the English language are,"I should have..." Good Luck.

Is there an LFS in Lebanon ? Can you get live rocks there ?

And can you stroll the street without fear of being kidnapped ?

Do they have Starbucks there or they just drink Turkish coffee before leaving home ?

Is it true that overthere they call an older person you've never met before "Ammo" or "Khaltu" ?

I also hear that in Lebanon people always say, "Open the light" instead of "Turn the light on" or "get down from the car" instead of "get out of the car."

You pronounce your p's as b's (bebsi and bolice).

This is what I hear, I could be wrong.

I haven't heard "open the light" and "close the light" since my Sicilian grandmother died!

LMAO
Bepsi!!!
You must be one of us, or at least married to one.

There havent been kidnappings since the war so I think your safe. They wouldnt bother with me, I fit right so they couldnt tell I was American.

They have Starbucks, KFC, MCdonalds, Buger King, Subway, Pizza Hut. Everything we have here basically, just more laid back.

No property taxes, school taxes, health insurance is only $200 a year there.

Ammo means Uncle on your fathers side, Khualo is uncle also but on your mothers side.

Khaltu means aunt on mothers side, Ammto means Aunt on mothers side.

One good thing is my Uncle is very high up in the Government there, so he will be a great connection.

batguano, I do in fact have Dual Citizenship. It would be nice to travel to Europe in a car. It would make a great roadtrip.

One of my uncles just came back from Brazil and has talked to me about getting into the Import/Export business with him, it looks like a good way to go.

And the LFS......who needs a tank when you the sea!!!
