Didn't I say that the link the Aussie posted was evil, bad, etc. ? Anyway, go to My RC, then look around in options for a friends/ignore list or whatnot...

Yes you said it, but just a little too late. I didn't see it until after the fact. :P

haha kamil, she wouldn't have been able to read it if she had still been ignoring you . anyways, i got back from berkeley and my sand is all so live (i just seeded one side with a handful of live sand from another tank) even on the other side i can see stuff growing down into it and the rock has corraline starting to come in and the pod population is climbing. im doing a %10 WC in a minute (its not huge, but i need to lower my salinity a little bit and take my nutrients down a little because...

im getting two clowns tomorrow! the first fish in this tank. i am wondering, though. should i get ocellaris or percs? the ocellaris are easier to get CB, but i kind of like the percs better... should i go with the ocellaris because its better for the reefs and they're hardy CB?

also, btw, i went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium yesterday and it was incredible. the best part was the comb jellies. also, the million gallon tank with yellowfin and bluefin tuna, pelagic stingrays, galapagos sharks, scalloped hammerheads, sardines, and mahi-mahi was pretty awesome.

IMHO, just go with whichever YOU want more (since both options are good), although supporting captive breeding isn't a bad thing at all.

WC can carry pathogens, namely Brooklynella. CB is the only way to go these days when buying clowns. Plus, you don't harm the reefs.

just got back from my water change. i think im going to go with the ocellaris clowns. i sort of like the percs better, but again, i dont want diseases, etc., and i want to get as many fish as possible CB. also, every single one of my corals and hopefully most of my clams will be from other reefers and aquaculture facilities. no corals in my tank will be direct from the reef. i am lucky. once my tank is ready, there are so many people in my local club who are going to give me frags. i have had to refuse so many nice acros and montis and xenia (i know its nothing special, but i like it.) i cant wait until i can actually put them in my tank (about 1 or 2 weeks.

nice, but i think you need a little more rock and a background. i didnt have a background on my 10, and then i just taped some black construction paper on the back and it looked much better. you should buy a background or paint one on (painting it will be more difficult though, with it already full. good luck with the propagating. how long has it been set up?

thanks astronaut. This tank is in a temporary stage right now (I'm waiting for my 110g be fully ready). It's just a place for my fish to live and coral to stay and grow. I plan to create egg crate shelving and such for the 20l after I get the 110g fully cycled. It has been setup for almost a year now, but this was originally an upgrade from a 10g and 5.5g.

oh yea, that thing on the bottom middle was a rainbow acanthastrea. Its lost its green because I've been using the PCs for a while for my blasto's sake. I am now using the halides once ever 3 days or so, and some green is starting to show.

Your blastos should do fine under halides if you acclimate them first. I have four colonies directly under my halide and they are loving it. The key is acclimation however -

And under actinics (just because) -

I have seen CB clowns with brook and the like. Still, the risk is less and CB clowns are generally in better overall health/hardiness.

Ok ok, looks sweet! I can't wait to see it color up...update pics are a must as well.

Since we are showing off our SPS, here's my newest Acro. Pics don't do justice to it's color, as I have to use flash (the color comes out rather unreal without). In front is a tiny tort frag that has finally decided to grow, and of course my fav Mont...compliments of Joshy -
