Powder blue tang

I just got a powder blue tang and I have it quaranteened in a 20 Gal tank. I have only had it for two days and so far he looks really good. He is swimming all around and is eating well and picking at the seaweed strips that I put in for him. When is it safe to put him into my 125Gal. tank. I have read quite a few articles on hyposalinity, in case he gets ich. If he doesn't show any signs of ich within 4 weeks, is it okay to put him into my bigger tank. Please let me know anyones experience or thoughts on this. Thanks Much!!!!

I would recommend a minimum of four weeks preferably six weeks. You are very smart in setting up a QT tank. Here is a good artice you will want to read:

tangs, especially pbt, are the most important fish to qt in this hobby. Other then a few wrasses, I qt everything. Most fish I don't use hyposalinty, but I always do with tangs.
