Talking Got a new fish today!

Have been wanting one of these for some time... found one today for 12$. Didnt think that price was bad at all. Thought I would share a pic of him.

This is only about 20min after acclimation.. he seems to be adjusting ok.

I probaly should have addressed this before getting the fish.. but..
How are these fed? I know they are a grazer...but will they accept prepared foods like formula2?

Definately lots of personality.. Mine was names "Little F'er" because he would sneak around the tank and play tag with me when I was working in it.. Usually that ended up making me yank my hand out (startled me), burn my arm on the MH bulb and call him his name..

LOTS of personality..

Keep him well fed with greens.. Mine ate forumla 2, even Spectrum..

Lawnmower blenny, Salarias fasciatus, will be a great tank addition, but watch his attitude! Mine would stand up on his tail, open his mouth, and have everyone in the tank scatter! You will know who he has taken a disliking to, for they will have perfect little circles of scales missing! Never pick a fight with someone who slams his face on rocks all day long!

My lawn mower blenny would only eat algea off the glass and rocks for about 6 month then started eating frozen mysis and flake food. Imo they are a great fish.

good luck with it.

Thanks all... Sounds like they are pretty hardy which is good to know. I was a little worried about his this morning. I came into the office after the weekend and couldent find him. Then after a 10min period of panic... noticed him hanging out on a rock. hah.

I had one that just blended in with the aquascape. You could look at the tank for a good 20min and he wouldn't move. Eventually I think he would get tired of me looking for him and he would move.

But its amazing how they can just blend in, in the most obvious places.
