New Skimmer

Just bought my first brand new skimmer!!!

Bermuda 5C powered by a Rio 20HF...........probably gonna upgrade to a Laguna, Mag 12 or Sedra 9000, but I had the Rio laying around.

These things are silent!!! Only thing I hear is the return water splashing the water in the sump.

Pics show the skimmer 30 minutes after setup..................

And the world famous Greg Carroll Waste Collector!!!!!!!

personally, i am pretty disappointed in my bermuda 5c. it does not require the constant attention of my previous becketts, it is easy to clean, it is quiet, it creates almost unsurpassed skimmate quality and quantity and it has created such an amazing environment that my sps has finally started looking like sps!

i mean...can you imagine how angry i am having to clean this skimmer every other day due to the filth it extracts from my 250g adjusted net volume...just look at this messy disaster!!!

If you are unhappy with it I will take it off your hands before you destroy it with the HOLY HAND GRENADE

I took the air vent off right after I took pics...........I remember drilling out my ASM caps to vent them & the performance getting better, so I took the plug out & vented this cup.......

Where else can you get a quality skimmer for a 500 gallon system cheaper?? A Euro-Reef built to handle 500 gallons will run you $1200............

Don't mention ASM because the Bermuda blows anything ASM has ever made out of the water..................

You should know in this hobby, you get what you pay for.........

Thanks for the info!!. I have seen a couple of these working and I am impressed. They also have some innovative features on closer inspection.Looks to be a real value for the money in comparison to what else is out there.

How much clearance is needed to remove the collection cup on the bps-5c?

Also, how deep can the water level be where I will be placing it in my sump?
