Can't we just go with an older version? I don't think anyone would mind at this point.

I am holding my breath that it will be back up today.

Everyone that uses a different SN on the two different sites, should receive 10 lashings!

BTW, I blame Hector for all this.

Whodah might mind, after all the work he has put into the upgrade that he was in the middle of.

We kinda have a backup - but it would be a PITA to setup. It was a backup prior to a patch I did 2 days before the site went down.

So it would be restoring the site from when we moved to godaddy, restoring the backup I made a couple days prior to the crash, re-patching the forums.

I chose to wait it out w/ godaddy

But - good news folks... The site is up!

DNS has been changed, so it should start working by domain name in the next 1 minute to two days depending on how your ISP's DNS servers are configured. (I.e. I have the SOA records updating every 60 seconds for CVR, but a lot of DNS servers ignore these SOA settings I'm finding and refresh at their own will. Whatevah.)

So, in the interim, get your fix here:

http://208.109.220.10/search.php?do=getdaily&days=2

note the ip addy instead of www.cvreefers.org. again, that's temporary until your personal ISP updates their DNS records.

Secondly, note that MOST links will point to the 208.109.220.10 addy instead of cvreefers.org when you are browsing except the upper and lower toolbars. (I had to hard code those links as apart of our Gallery hack.)

You can always flush your own DNS locally, but it won't do much good until SBC or Comcast or Time Warner or whomever your provider is updates their DNS records!

If anyone works for these ISPs and can accelerate thier DNS flush, you'd be the "man of the hour!"

Incidently, Time Warner has updated already.

No workie for me...(but then again, I have AT&T/SBC/PacBell, so it'll take them a couple of days to update anything...and may happen some time between 12 and 5...

Yeah, 12. Unfortunately some names like Sherman were taken up many moons ago. Yeah it was me. I was vacuuming and I had the Dyosn plugged into the fish tank socket.

eznet2u: you are one of the unfortunate ones w/ a slow DNS flush. It should be working for you 'anytime' but could be as much as 1.5 days away!

Who's your ISP?

Probably not -- I saw this behavior when switching from our GD IP to my IP for that little message.

I cannot explain why? All I can do is verify (which I did then and just now) that DNS is setup correctly on our end.

[Speculation]
Some DNS servers have updated, others not, and until they all query the listed/authoritative whois server for the domain, we could see some muck ups like this?
[/Speculation]

As of 11:30 p.m., still being redirected to the
http://ppe.whodah.com/cvreefers.org/index.html
page. It's odd, since it was working fine around noon...
