Hay Brian or Larry is there a ban on posting a PM that someone sent a member? Not related to this club.

Posting a PM from a member of the staff here, is a good way to get banned. Posting a PM from another member is generally bad form. It's called a private message for a reason. It's probably not an offense that one would be banned for, but it's probably not a good idea, either.
If you feel that you have received a harassing, or inappropriate PM via RC's resources, you can forward that PM to any member of the staff for review.

why do we get off subject,a person is looking for a fish tank & I see no reason for the rc staff have to be bashed, this is the reason why they are picking at our club forum. This is also discuragging from people from coming to this forum & possably to the club if they think that we behave this way on a regular basis. Right now I think its going to far & people need to chill. Back to the subject,I have a 120 rr oceanic & i wish i had one that didnt have the huge overflows that get in the way & have to be cleaned on a constant basis,I wish i had one that was drilled for that purpose for various reasons. For 1 i would like to be able to have more room in the tank.2 a faster return for a closed loop or for a chiller, being restricted to those things have made me wish i did things differently. So I will give you those things to think about, & welcome to the club & hope we see you at the frag swap in november.

I just have upturned elbows pointing towards the surface from my bulkheads and prefer it over any overflow I could buy from the store. I use needle point mesh to keep unwanted critters from wandering in.

That "someone" was given more than ample opportunity to apologize for a particularly obnoxious comment. I guess they didn't really want to be here anyway.

I like doing it this way also. I use cut eggcrate in mine though (1 1/2" drains)

I really hope this part of the reply was a joke or you just justified the comment.

I was just casually reading a thread when all of the sudden this stuck out as if saying "if anyone questions my authority they will be banned".... now I hope this post doesn't get me banned.

Just the honest opinion of a new member.

Read the User Agreement. Personal attacks are not allowed. Now, being called "gestapo" may not be an attack in your book, but it is in mine.

It has nothing to do with "questioning authority". It has everything to do with behaving in a civil manner.

I will not deny that our rules are enforced very strictly, and when you have drawn the attention of this much staff, EVERYTHING gets looked at.
I'll give it to you straight, there are not that many options for us, as the management of RC to use in handling this. We WILL achieve harmony here by employing;
1) Bans
2) temporary forum closure
3) permanent forum closure
as necessary
That's about it as far as "tools" we can use.
The question is this:
Will you fix it now, or will you continue and make things worse for yourselves?
WOW; that's all I've got to say. I understand that this is a free service and people can't do what ever they want but I've been involved in the hobby for about 4 months now and seeing a post like this from a moderator makes me question why I would want to do business with people who support this forum.

Now I understand that this moderator doesn't speak for the rest of the forum or the LFS that support it but when you're making posts like this you can't question the "Gestapo" comment. You just completely justified it.

Just for fun I'm going to print this thread and take it around to the LFS that I've spent a few $1000 over the last couple of months just to get the owners comments.

When you’re getting ****ed off at me and suspending my account please remember that I am a complete newbie and I’ve used this forum with great success. You’re the one that managed to turn an innocent question it into a controversy. How hard would it have been to PM fenton and explain the rules rather than publicly berating him?

I don't know who you are, but take your agenda elsewhere.
