Water changes

Ok so for those that use a rather large container (ie. carbage can) to store their premixed saltwater how do you get the water then from the container to the tank when you need to do the water change?

while I do not use a "large" container for my pre mixed water I do use a maxijet 1200 with vinyl hose attached to push water back into my tank. You can do this with any aquatic pump, the 1200 does take a tad longer than i would like but it was already sitting around the house and not being used. I use the same pump for mixing the saltwater as well.

I do mine in a moderately large container, and move the water from that using a 2.5 gallon bucket. It takes a few trips, but it is worth being able to mix a large batch at once.

go with the pump unless you want to stany in shape then use the bucket method

After trying different methods, this seems to work the best for me.

A little background, my tank is in the middle of my living room, so I can't have buckets and trash cans laying around near the tank. I have three 7 gallon water jugs I got from Outdoor World that I keep RO/DI water in. They come with spouts, one of which I extended by connecting a 2' piece of threaded PVC to for top offs. I usually have 2 filled and one usually has waste in it for watering outside. When it comes to water change time, I get out the trash can, powerhead, and heater. I let the water heat up and add salt and let the powerhead run for a couple hours. When it comes time to add the water, I hook up a hose to the powerhead and fill away. This seems to be the most convenient for me and my situation
