OK, now an ALK question !!!

I just ordered a new test kit.. It reads in PPM of alk..
I am used to KH and meg/l ....
but what PPM should I read !
I normally keep mine @ 9.0kh

They're likely equating ppm and meq/L as the same thing.

What brand?

I heard somewhere that Salifert was having problems-- so I ordered this just to test against salifert..
Guess I can also ask in chem forum..

Randy got back to me in chem forum..
1 meg/l = 2.8 dkh=50 ppm
Nice! but man, I would like to have a cross reference "table"
So for 9kh,, I will read 160ppm ... right?

After 2 tests seem like they are pretty far apart! Lamotte reads 120ppm Salifert read 9kh..

Hmmmm, Guess one has to go! I was wondering if I had not been warned.. Salifert needs to go.
Alk added 15min ago and polips are already coming back out on my millie!!

kh reg. is 0507-d
I am 99.999999% sure something is wrong with it..
it reads alot higher that it should.
Soon after adding alk, SPS look better!!!
Not sure , but feel that I lost clams due to this
and a few SPS rare frags!!!

well, i about lost everything in my tank till i realized i had a kit reading 6.0 to high, i thought i was running 12.DKH turned out it was 6 you should see my live rock was nice and purple not its brownish-working on getting it back to purple though

have any of you guys tried to return these defective test kits to the store you bought them from? i'd be curious if they would honor it like most places do with defective equipment.
