Bad/pinkish Coralvue Reeflux 12k 400w bulb?

I have 2 new bulbs that I have been using for 5 days, 7 hours a day. They were both very blue in the beginning. One has turned a nice white/blue color while the other has turned a white/pink color. Both are on Icecap ballasts. The par of the pinkish one also seems to be about 15% less than the other(according to my apogee meter). Both are marked with 12k.

I have the nipples pointing up on both bulbs and they are installed in Lumenbright reflectors.

Anyone else have this problem? I contacted the seller (reefexotics) to see if I can get a new bulb.

Thanks
Ray Nist

is your ballast electronic or regular? I have a friend and his bulb turn pink also with an electronic ballast. I run them with a magnetic ballast and I don't have the color change in my bulb.

I read elsewhere that if the lamp has white tubing then it's an older lamp that gives off a pink hue. If it's got clear tubing, then it's a newer version that should burn very white.
