base rock and ich

I wanted some opinions, I took my tank down after I had a ich breakout and am in the process of setting it back up, the rock (about 45lbs) has the encrusted remains from the ich that was present, can this rock be re-used or should I get mew rock. Your thoughts?

If you leave the rock alone (with out any fish) for at least 1 month it will be fine to reuse. The life cycle of the ich parasite is 1 month, so by doing this you will have broken the life cycle due to the fact that no fish is present for it to host on/in.
