Grain,
I also have rock from TBS and have the same coral attached to one of my rocks. I also was told that brain corals do not come from the atlantic. If you get it identified let me know. Mine has grown nicely in a years time and is doing well.

Hey, which type of the TBS rock did you order? Was it the deco? I'm putting in an order here in a few days.

Also, how long did you cure before adding to tank? Any ammonia spike? Any inhabitants in the tank already?

okay, I think that's all the questions.

hey me too!

I got the same as pic 1 on my tbs rock.
They are little, round soft disks.
If you squirt em with a turkey baster they will contract, so I don't think it's a brain.

You check out the list?

Programmer huh?

Hope you don't run a MAC (hehe)

I did a little reef calculator just for funzies for those who are not from MACland:

http://www.lamepage.com/lame_page/converter.zip

REMEMBER: if someone complains about your code, it's always user error OR what we call a "B16-ID10T" OR A PEBKAC error

that's "bee-16 ID ten T" and OR "problem exists between keyboard and chair" hahahahahaha

Brains may not grow on Atlantic rock, but it definitely does grow on carribean rock, and Tampa is on the Gulf of Mexico. Some of the largest brains in the world are in the Gulf, with the largest in the world being in the Carribean near Trinidad and Tobago. Your pic looks like it could very well be the beginnings of a Maze Brain. Check this site out:

Biggest Brain Coral in the World

That pic of yours is definitely some form of Brian coral in early growth.

okay, I think that's all the questions.
That particular piece was deco.

I put it in the tank in the beginning before fish. She said to turn the skimmer on and be prepared to do water changes, if i had any huge spikes, but i didn't.

Yes right now I have: 2 Bangai Cardinals, 3 Damsels, Gold Bar Maroon Clown.
