Man, if only there was a way to cleanly and securely mount the red swivel post to the pump housing perpendicular to the propshaft. That would allow placement on overflows and other angles of the tank that would make the thing equal to or better than the nano stream in terms of positioning options.
Does anyone know what the maximum angle you can achieve from perpendicular to the magnet is on these guys? Looks like 45* at best. The only thing that I'm on the fence about is the adjustability in a relatively small 60gal cube. Chris |

What size do you guys think these would be for?
10-20gallon 21-40gallon 41-100gallon 101+gallon? Also does any brand make a controler for them?

is it me or are the props on on the hydor and the MJmod designed to spin opposite directions? Not that it matters, but i just thought it interesting.

It does look like a right hand prop....Could be a easy fix to the wrong direction spin!

It looks like the MJ prop is too long for it to be able to pop out and correct itself. Maybe if someone tried making a Dumas or octura prop as short as the stock prop, when the prop would start backwards, the reverse motion and flow would pop it out like the stock prop is designed to and allow it to correct itself. Also the magnet could be the factor that is causing the prop to start out differently, maybe it is stronger and doesn't allow the magnetic field by the motor to be broken by the prop pulling itself out in the reverse flow motion.

This looks like a nice PH. I was planning to upgrade my SEIO 1100s to get something in the 2000gph range. I thought about Tunzes, but just can't justify spending so much right now, so was going to go with the MJ-mod. However, with these new Hydor pumps, if they can get 2000gph, I might be getting some of these instead.

Not on a controller but I did rig up a light dimmer switch to one and it seems to work just fine. Only messed with it a few hours and then ran it as normal again

Anyone know where to get these in Canada yet? Or somewhere that will ship to Canada and not have outrageous shipping costs?
Thanks Chris

Wow, for Model 3, $65 US plus brokerage fees to Ontario, Canada. Guess I'll have to wait to either make a trip to the US or wait for it to become available up here.

BA Ahhhh yes. More than happy to sell you overpriced stock but not very helpful. They said it is something new and something they can't bring in yet.
I think I'm going to have it shipped to a relative in the US and then pick it up or have them ship it snailmail. I am going to try a couple of online vendors here in Canada first though. |

TAG I like good/lower cost equipment. Lets face it, the Germans make great equipment but the price is unjustifyable to many and myself..

Any thoughts on just gluing or melting the MJ Mod impeller to the top of the K-impeller? looks like they would fit nicely right on top of it. would save the trouble of putting together a MJ Mod and could keep the magnet it comes with. and looks like there is plenty of room within the cage.
may be worth a try with glue first at least.

Major Question:
Can this be hooked up to a Wave Maker/ Controler with varible speeds? Sort of like the Tunezes

I just ordered 3 of the smallest ones (should arrive monday) for a couple of my prop tanks. I'm going to try them on a simple timer settup of 6 hours on/off, reversing the direction of the flow in the tank. Hopefully they'll take to that kind of an interval. I'll post results.
