Pics of my new 9 gallon Biube reef

This is a 9 gallon Biube freshwater tank that I turned in to a reef tank (in the works). I added 20 pounds of live sand and 18 pounds of live rock. I also added a Maxi-jet 400 and a 50 watt stealth heater, and a coralife mini agualight. I am doing 20% bi-weekly water changes instead of adding a skimmer. It has been up and running for about a month now. The only livestock I have is a Firefish and about four snails. ( more to come).

that's an awesome tank! I wouldn't think that a 9gal would be enough room for a firefish, but there seems to be plenty there! What an awesome idea!

Your right sugarfox03. The tank looks smaller from the outside because it is magnified a bit from the circular shape. Inside it is actually pretty roomy.

It magnifies your equipment.

Is it hard to scrape off algea if you use a magnet scraper?

Yes, it does magnify the equipment a bit. I haven't tried a magnet scraper yet, So I am not sure if that will work or not in there. I haven't had hardly any algae due to low lighting, low feeding(once a day), and tons of live sand and live rock. I have used a sponge like scaper in the tank a couple times. I may have to give the magnet scaper out of my other nano a try to see how it works.

Excellent idea and it looks wonderful! Looks like the firefish is happy If you don't have a hood on the tank beware of carpet diving (just a heads up).

The tank is about 18 inches Tall, and if I wrap the tape measure around it, it's about 40 inches.

I bought mine over a year & a half ago, and used it as a freshwater tank. I don't remember where I bought it, but here is a link that has them.
