Angry Suspected disease on my Volitans

I have just noticed that my little volitans has little white spots on its pectoral fins and 2 small on his body. I don't think it is white spot but it suspect fin rot or some kind of parasite. Please help as I am very worried!

I've never personally had a lion fish however I have noticed those same spots on just about every volitans I've seen in the pet store. At first I thought they were a parasite but after seeing it on so many I'm not so sure. Maybe like the boning on the tail of the yellow tang?

Someone's got to know.

Volitans are strong, strong fish. You can't really see any dots in the pictures, and even if there are a couple, unless the lion starts either acting sick or gets more dots, I would suggest you keep up your water quality and give him a chance to get rid of whatever it is on his own, which happens a lot more often than people would have you believe.

Its easy to overreact to things like that -- lord knows I have -- I think trying to treat at this point would do more harm than good.

That being said, if it gets worse, or if he starts acting funny, then you should probably take action.

On a side note, I kept a volitan for 18 years in a 30 gallon in what became essentially fresh water. Those things are invincible!

Those spots arent ick and I've seen them on every lion if I pay attention to it. So I say it's perfectly normal and nothing to worry about.
