Seio controller is the only one that will work until Hydor comes out with their own, supposedly by the end of the year

My brand new Koralia 3 from Premium Aquatics came with two pieces that snap on the front of the pump. One is cylindrical and the other is a mesh to fit into the cylinder. It also came with a little yellow addendum to the instructions to show how to install it. But there was no text with it.
It looks like what it does is direct the stream of the pump to a tighter stream, rather than the diffuse stream that you normally get with the Koralia. Is this a new piece? My Koralia 4 doesn't have it in the box. I'm probably not going to use it because I like the wide stream, but it is nice to have the option.

Can you post a picture? Does it stay within the housing?

It snaps on the outside of the housing. I can take a picture tonight. At first I didn't find the extra instruction sheet, so I was a bit confused about its purpose.

I just got a Koralia #1 and was wondering the same thing. At first I had it on, but was not sure if it was restricting the flow. I have it off for now, but I may but it back on when I start to add fish and corals.
I looks like a guard to protect objects from the blades. |

On the outside? Is it ugly?

It makes the pump a bit longer, but it is the same plastic as the rest of the guard, so it fits in.

its the eco tech pump that uses magnetics to turn the pump impeller and hold the motor on the outside to the impeller housing on the inside.

Hydor knocked of tunze or maxi mode now china knocked them off. If in 220v will not take long for the 110v to be imported to the united states

Is the Taam Seio controller still the only controller out there that people are using these pumps with? I just picked up a K4 tonight to test it out and will probably pick another one up tomorrow and would love to put them on some sort of controller.
I'd really like a controller that alternated the flow, but if the seio is all thats out there and its all or nothing, I might be convinced to buy that too... |

the Koralia will not work with a controller that turns it on and off. It will most likely break the impeller. The seio controller varies the voltage to slow the pump and then speed it back up to normal.
