ro di booster pump setup
New reefer seeking advice: My house water pressure is 42psi, my new ro/di (optima ca from purely h20) is spec. to operate at 60 psi. So far the system puts out only a trickle - maybe 2gals per hour. I am designing the system to provide water top off in the sump (using a float switch with a solenoid) and water into a reservoir for water changes. The tank/sump/reservoir are 40' distant from the ro/di which is in the basement.
I think I want an aquatec 8800 but unsure the proper pressure switch. some vendors say that the switch must be matched with the incoming water pressure, some say match the pressure for the membrane. Also I have read that it's a good idea to put an inline filter just before the booster pump to extend its' life. My questions are: what are the correct pump and switch combo ? correct limits for the switch ? am I doing anything wrong ? thanks, Steve |

Either pressure switch will be fine. It measures the pressure in the line leading to your sump.
