Do you have your lights on yet? How about other pumps/ powerheads that you plan on adding? These things will add heat. The temp of the tank will also change with the temp of the room.
I think generally, the bottom recommended temp is 72*, so you're close. I'd probably get a heater just to be sure, it's better to get it now and have it in there with the temp set and not need it than to realize one day when you're full of livestock.

You should probably get a heater

Yeah, what Kitty said. Your ideal temp is going to be more like 78° to 80° or so. If for no other reason, the heater will help stabilize the temp and keep it from swinging wildly between lights-on and lights-off.

Right. Get the heater. You'll need it eventually, and your tank needs the stability.

Make it six, Have you thought about this summer and a small fan. We use a small cpu fan and old cell phone charger clipped facing down at the water. I have an extra if you want the parts, I can bring it to the Jan. meeting.

Definitely get a heater, but since you're just cycling and there is no ornamental livestock in there yet, it isn't a pressing issue. The bacteria that are helping your tank through the Nitrogen Cycle are not very picky on temperature. On the other hand, some of the hidden life might be. Any snails, crabs, forams, etc that might have came in on your rock may enjoy some slightly warmer temperatures. When adding the heater, make sure to heat your water back up over the course of a few days as to not shock anything in the system.
