Red Cotton Algae in Sump
My sump has been taken over by this red cottony algae.
It used to be just a couple of spots and I would siphon it out. Now, it is all in my chaeto, and taking over. What can I do to get rid of it?

It is not Cyano....
It is like red cotton.

It's not cyano-- its Asparagopsis. True MExican Turbos will eat it, but not out of floating cheato. My sea hare also eats it--- he keeps my display clean. My sump is full of it also--- without any in my display. I was concerned at first, but now I am using it as my nutrient export (it has taken over my Caulerpa). Not sure if this is the best idea, I'll probably try to get rid of it when I upgrade next month.

I have the same stuff in my fuge, overtaking my chaeto. I don't have it in my display, and frankly don't know where it came from. Thanks for posting the name of it, now I can research it a bit and see if I should be more diligent in removing it from my fuge.
