It got up to a sweltering 44 degrees here so the birds got a special treat in that they got to go out in the sunroom to enjoy a little free flight. Oh, and I also spent the day nursing my broken husband (who by the way will have MORE titanium implants put in soon) and nursing my cold. My job here is done

did i miss something?? how'd he get broke?

titanium is good, just as long as he doesn't have to go through airport security.

He fractured his left ankle slipping in the "big snow" that we got on the 13th of December. Soooo, because of the location of the break, he'll need more titanium "installed". He's already got quite a few titanium plates, screws, etc., due to the fact that some lady hit him head on about 5 years ago shattering about 60 bones in both of his legs. Because he managed to get Mercer Staph in his right leg as a result of that accident, his right knee had to be fused so he can't bend it which makes getting around on crutches more than difficult. He got off easy though as the lady that hit him died on the scene.

Oh, and he'll definitely need a doctor's pass to get through airport security if he ever feels the need to get on an airplane

Not bad for a lady there nina..

Me? I finished cutting and splitting a big oak tree the wind blew down. I have been working on it for a couple of weeks and all I had left today was the main trunk, about 30" in diameter and about 16' long. With a few big crotches that made the splitting a bear.

Cut, split and stacked.

It ain't no batch of brownies, but I thought I did pretty good.

good grief! that's the second time today i've been called a lady. i'm losing my touch!

trust me amcarrig, hubby's gonna need more than a doctor's pass to get through airport security. lemme know when he gets close to traveling, i'll tell him how to avoid a strip search.

do you know what kind of bulbs or plants you are going to plant?

personally, i LOVE oriental lilies, or any lilies for that matter. How about maybe some poppies?

anyway, heres a good site that I found for you that you might like to order flowers from

Are you trying to get me accused of denying him a strip search by a possibly good looking security chick?!

This is what I did today -- with help from my Dad who stopped by. Before hand the lights were sitting on top of the tank.

i haven't decided what i will plant but i think i have to wait till next fall to plant bulbs. when all danger of frost is over this coming spring, i will plant grass seed and then just put a few annuals out.

i will also set gary's headstone. i have looked at a few of those and i'm leaning toward a memorial bench rather than a traditional headstone. the benches are nice and can be engraved like headstones.

thanks for the website, i'll check it out.

You people make me feel like such a bum! I got up at noon, goofed around on the internet until 2pm, finished & printed an assignment, and then slacked around all evening. I'm going to miss the student lifestyle when I have to get a big girl job.
