I don't think there's a comparison, RS180 or RS250 should be your choice. The G3 isn't even in the same capacity rating.

RS250, it's better to oversize a bit than undersize.

Yea your right, but I can't fit a RS250 under my tank,at max I can get a 27" -- 28" in sump skimmer, The RS250 is 30" which sucks.

Hmmm, maybe a octo 200 nw from www.marinesolutionsinc.com for 180bux that is 24" h at 8" reaction chamber. WIll be cheap and easy for a 210g fowlr and if you boar out the venturi and elbo and meshmod it , will skim like a mad man.

Check out this skimmer. IMO, you should look around for another skimmer because it wouldn't be a good idea to undersize the skimmer for the tank. The ATI bubble master 250 is another good choice.

The Euro reef is the winner in this match up. The RO NW 200 aint a bad choice either.

I was set on the Euro RS250 until I measured from the bottom of my sump to the bottom of my tank. I than figured I could get away with the RS180 till I found a used ASM G-3 with an extra pump(new) for 150.00. I really don't want to spend over 500.00 thou.

Thank you all that replied.

people knock the asms on here but i have read of numerous people having good results with that skimmer.

for $150 i would give it a shot and see what kind of results you get

you can turn that skimmer around in the used forum and probably not loose any money.

Checkout the ATi BM200. Since your setup is a fish only tank, you don't need the bigger model BM250, BM200 would be a better fit. I say it's worth about $50 over your budget to get a much better performance skimmer than any of the ones you've listed. And the footprint is extremely small, so should have no problems fitting it in your sump inside your tank cabinet.

ATI BM200 Internal ~ $549
Clearance Needed: 13"L x 9"W x 21"H
Dimensions: 12.6"L x 8.5"W x 19.8"H
Energy Consumption: 24 watts
Air Draw: 1,100lph
Suggested Capacity: up to 200g heavy, 250 normal
Minimum Suggested Tank Size: 100g
