Silicone question

what types of silicone are safe to use in an aquarium?

Those that are 100% Silicone and do not contain mold inhibitors. Dow makes some that can be purchased at HD and of course there is always the stuff at the LFS and online that is marketed for aquariums.

wow. 4 threads on this topic in as many days.

DAP aquarium sealant can be purchased at Menards.
GE Silicone I is ok, but type II is not.

I used the WalMArt GE type I. It says 100% rubber silicone on it

Carefull, I was at HD last week for this and GE type I is NOT always OK. Some are GE Type I door and Window and some are Bathroom..... make sure it has NO ANTI-MOLD.

I was about to walk out with a GE TYPE I with anit-mold.
