Unhappy Clownfish hosting in something other than an anemone

Okay, I have some questions for you clown finatics. I like you, love clowns. However, I have a reef tank that is currently in transition to a predominant SPS tank. I just got a young tank bred clown, but it is not hosting in anything currently in my tank. He has been in there about a week. Here are a few of the corals that I have, in the tank. Large toadstool, several hundred stalks of xenia, star polyps, 2 brains, a large colt, rock flower anemone, and a large variety of button polyps. I also have several varieties of acros, montis, birdnest, etc... What would you suggest as an alternative to the classical anemones? I am afraid of the vast majority of anemones because of their size and mobility. I don't want to lose an entire tank of costly corals because of an anemone. These are a few that I have considered; frogspawn, hammer, or torch.

PS I recently saw a very large clown (not sure what variety) hosting in a large clam. This is something I would have never expected. Just thought you might find this interesting.

Just let them in there and they will find something to host in, if is not toadstool, then xenia, and if not then colt or antyhing they like. They will find something in the tank and they are just new. The clam and clown you saw was Sanjay and I posting them in RC.

Here is Sanjay Picture

and here is mine

and doing a video of it today if I get a chance.

Actually, the clown and clam that I saw were in a friend's tank here in town. Next time I am over there, I will see if I can get a pic to post.

They stay in there and move around the the clam will open and fill with water and shoot them out (funny picture). They go in there at night and sleep all night.

I have one that host between the pump and glass and don't get close to rocks, holes, soft corals. If the like the spot they will protect it. If you place something on the spot they will push it away and specially Maroon (mean).

Just that the picture quality is different on the clowns and the clam. If you look close, the clowns are grainy but he rest of the pic isn't. I know they do this, but i don't think that first pic is real.

That first picture is real and clam has that color and those clowns are darker false than regular I have seen. I might have my own version of the same clam with the same clown fish.

And as for my video I went down and got my camera ready to shoot a video clip of them going in the clam but those clams would not go close to the mouth.

Thank you embryoguy and probably they have not seen the picturues yet Now what would they say if I told them that a hippo tang went inside the clam and out don't make me go there and sleep to get that picture.. nah, I saw it and know it happens. I really like the last picture of clown looking at the camera.
Emryoguy: I think I'm driving all the way to something fishy again tomorrow to pick up a crab for a costumer.
