BTA will most likely lose ther bubble tips over time there is nothing we can do to prevent this, I dont think anybody knows why they do lose them.

Does this only happen in captivity? are those anemones breed or are they picked up from some reef?

Personally I've never had a bta, I've heard that having a clown will help in keeping the bubble tips rather than them becoming flacid. I don't know if there is any truth to this though.

Maybe your lights are getting old. Try changing out the bulbs and, after a couple of days, placing your BTA as high as you can

How offten do you feed it? If it every other day try going a bit longer between feedings and see if you notice a differance.

I had a BTA for almost ten years. It went through phases of having bubbles and not. It wasn't tied to food, or lighting, or position - it just seemed to happen. I had a tomato clown hosting in it the whole time.

I'm with MalHavoc, I've had a Rose BTA for over 5 years. It's cloned over 20 times. I still have 8 in my system, some are bubble tip, as was the mother. And some have changed to long tentacle. I just noticed the other day two that were long tentacle are now bubble tip again? I stopped feeding them 3-4 years ago because this just prompted splitting.. They are all healthy and I have never lost any...

You guys may be right as well. There's much we don't know about anemone behavior. My RBTA gets more bubbly if I move its rock closer to the surface and also the part of the BTA closer to the light is always the more bubbly part. After a while you will key in on it's likes and dislikes. They have an extremely fussy temperament, for sure.
