sump evaporation question
I have my first tank with a sump. I'm getting a lot of salt buildup on the inside of the sump walls due to evaporation. Do those with sumps clean your sump walls or leave them be(mix salt back in sump water)?
Thanks. |

I'll try and take a pic tonight. I had to go with a deeper sump tank to take on the water draining from the main tank in a power outage. So there is a good 9 inches of glass above the sump water line. I guess it's just catching the salt during the evaporation. I guess I was wondering if people wipe the walls down on their sumps. It's not producing any wild swings in salinity levels. I'm getting a lot of evaporation because the sump is in a pretty confined area and the tank is a rimless open top tank.
