Just for kicks I decided to send water to aquariumwatertesting.com. Another toy to feed the obsessive nature of a reef nut.

My observations and complaints of the tank are as follows.
1. Some cyano.
2. Some cloudiness to water especially in am.
3. when ever I add a gfo I seem to get some base stn. Which usually stops when removed, but sometimes the entire colony stn's. A painful slow observation.

From this test:

Si is high: How to reduce
add gfo per AWT.com. PROBLEM: I have had terrible luck using this. POSSIBLY more water change. I also do not use flake food, I use formula frozen foods.

Molybdenum high : AWT.com states IT MAY FUEL CYANO and recommends to discontinue additives containing it. It also states that salt mixes may be high in molybdenum. PROBLEM: I really do not add any additives except ca (ice melt, mg, ice melt, baking soda, 5% water change weekly) CONCLUSION: Tropic marin salt is high in Molybdenum and I should change mix or stop wondering why molybdenum is high. Other than this I am happy with salt.

Mg low: Just a over site I just added some more mag flakes, actually prior to getting results back.

K low: This is a new one for me I know zeovit makes a k test and additive. I generally look for a lower cost alternative to additives which rules out zeovit additives. If it will make a big difference I will consider zeovit k test and additives.

ANY COMMENTS AND EDUCATED OPINIONS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED. ANYONE IN PHILA AREA ALWAYS GLAD TO SHARE OR TRADE A FRAG.
