its almost been 2 years progress pics

well its almost my tanks birthday haha so i decided to share its progress over those 2 years... you can see how it has done.. the main issues ive encountered since starting this tank have centered around alkalinity... in the begginings i had issues with the salt i was using be it Via Aqua Ocean Pure Pro long story short it had real high levels of Borate which falsified my Alk readings and they were actually very low and i could not keep an acro alive for the life of me for the first 3-4 months with this tank except for a few hardy ones. once i figured out the alk issue with the salt things have turned around and have done very well... its crazy to see how fast the green with blue tips slimer has been growing in the last few pics and some of the other sps are really filling in now....

well here was my tank when i first set it up and transferred over from my old 100g tank almost 2 years ago

first my new tank lee mar 180g setup i made my own stand and canopy for this tank. i started this tank so i could keep sps happy and growing

finally got it up and running and transferred over my 100g tank leftovers

when i started getting into sps a little more about 1 year 6 months ago

about 7-8 months ago

this pic is about 3 months ago exactly

pic as of tonight almost 2 years actually 1 year 11 months now and things are going well i lost some corals over that time a few from alk issues and some from i dont know but for the most part most have made it and are doing well

thanks for looking

trueblackpercula... thanks for the nice comment! i see it everyday so its not that special to me anymore lol maybe i shouldnt look at it for a few months then it might be cool again lol

plyle02... thanks i tried keeping it more open and some natural aquascapping with lots of cliffs and ledges... i used lots of super glue gel to get some of the pieces to hang off the sides and grow like that but its worked pretty well

Great progess! Looks like you might need a lager tank in the future.

It's amazing how far this hobby has come. We can take little frags and two years time have a full blown reef. Sweet.

Excellent progression shots. Your tank is a real beauty . Kep doing what you are doing because you are doing it right.

thanks everyone! its been a rewarding hobby for the most part even when there was down moments when i could not figure out the alk issues with that salt but i just kept trying to figure it out and now that it runs well it was worth it...

gasman... thanks i was surprized that it ended up turning into a table... i got this little wild piece from the LFS about ayear and a half ago as this

it has since turned into this nice plating table... its been pretty hardy too its been around during some of the alk issues and never died off just some slower growth but now it grows pretty fast as you can see how it has done

this is the yellow coral thats now growing up my overflow box... i almost killed it then cuz of that alk issue luckily i figured it out and it has now grown pretty big

heres how my valida next to the clam looked about a year and 6-8 months ago as well it has grown quite a bit

this one in the far upper back thats brown turned into my red milli table

it just cool to see things grow out

robs fish thanks!

dphins.... it is pretty cool to watch little frags grow out ive enjoyed it

thanks slojmn its taken time but its hangin in there

jmaneyapanda... hahaha yeah tell me about it i never knew how big this thing would get but hopefully it will stick around for a while or until i can get a wider tank for it
