How powerfull is the Tunze wavemaker.

Just like the caption says.. I want to know if it will be strong enough for an 8 ft long tank by 32" wide.

I don't think it will make it across eight feet. I have seen it working on a four foot tank nicely (all the way across), but assuming you will have lots of stuff in the way (rock, corals) I don't think one will cut it. With all the stuff you have listed in your current tank field though it would be a cool additon. I love how it makes stuff sway back and forth.

works on 8 ft tank but for a tank your size you will need the wavebox extension as well.

Here is what it does to my milli 5 feet away in a 6 foot tank. I'm not so sure that it would be much different in an 8 ft tank. I could be wrong though.

Greg, think I can borrow your wavebox for testing??? ..I know, I know...doesnt hurt to ask though..

Im wondering if the extension will work for me. Im still kind of confused on what the extension is?? It just looks like another wavebox...does it go on the opposite end??? Or is it programmed to run concurrently with the other? Anyone know? I am running a closed loop right now but Im trying to conserve electricity and go the Tunze route.. Thanks everyone for the input.

i have a wavebox on a 7' x 32" tank. should work no problem on yours.

Try searching the Tunze forum, this question has been asked many times there.
