lyretail-carpet surfing
i have a lyretail anthias that has been in my tank for 3 months. today, when i fed my fish, as usual i turn off my pumps so the food wont go down the overflow. i filled up my glass of beer and went on RC(this site) to ask and answer a few questions. 30 minutes later i walk out and see my anthias on the floor(not moving). my first thought was flush her down she is dead. i decided to put her back in the tank. she fell like a rock but was still breathing. i thought damn now i have to fish her out but said she is breathing give her a chance. as im talking to my LFS(who said she had a good chance of living), she popped up and darted to her favorite hiding spot. sorry to waste your time but i was extremely excited when she was ok. thanks for your time and good luck all.

I am constantly amazed by stories like this. I didn't realize how often fish survive after being out of the tank for a long amount of time. Hope the fish thrives for years to come!

That is great to hear! I once had a pleco spend a cold night on the floor. The next morning I found him, stiff as a board, and put him back in the tank. All his skin sloughed off but he eventually recovered and lived for several more years.
