New Hood

Hi all, I want to build a new hood for my acrylic tank so that i can put MH lights in it. It is not high enough now so i want to re-do it. does anyone know what kind of wood would be optimal?

pine works fine ..its the cheapest and ive used it in the past ...but..it can look cheap......oak or maple is the best ..IMO and stay away from pressure treated.. but the wood is compleatly a preference and with the halides your gonna need fans anyway, so the wood doesnt matter for structure or saftey.
