I would like to know about this also, anybody tried it yet?

If you have a spare MJ1200 lying around, use the magnet that it came with and a small prop. Either of the smaller Octuras or Dumas will work.

I added the eco tech prop from my eco tech mods and it doubled my flow. Just add the eco tech prop to the existing koraila rod and you are set...

Ya know....don't get upset about no answers to your question. Maybe no one has done this and you are the first....so step up, do you experiements and share your results with the rest of us. Don't depend on someone else to do it. Go for it!!! and let us know.

I'm looking for a simple, one step swap-out replacement magnet & propeller assembly to achieve this mod. Although this thread has presented a great amount of information and options, for me, simplicity is best. I've only found one source for such a product, at http://aquariumsuppliesdirectonline....es/Page568.htm about 3/4 down the page called Medium Flow Propeller for MJ 1200/900 and High Flow Propeller for MJ 1200. I believe the medium flow uses an Octura 1435 and the high flow uses a Dumas 3004.
So, my question is: will the medium flow assembly make this mod as simple as swapping the parts? Am I missing anything?

Could someone provide some guidance on how to remove the prop from the magnet/rod on the Koralias? I have a new prop to try on them but I'm not sure how to remove the existing prop from the magnet.

Thanks!

All I did was remove the prop from the hydor rod and replace it with the eco tech prop. No modding, cutting or what so ever. If I recall correctly, I think only one end of the hydor caps came off,one of them was pretty stubborne to remove. But its as easy as grabbing it and holding it in a towel to get more grip on one of the ends and pulling it off....

By just replacing the old hydor prop with the eco tech prop it doubled my flow easily. Just try it.

Any rate, it should work fine. It did for me....

As for the eco tech replacement that includes replacing the hydro magnet and prop with the eco tech magnet and prop. I don't think you would be able to remove the magnet from the hydor prop, but I could be wrong. The issue you would have is if its even fused and you would have to re glue the new prop to the magnet. If you get any of that glue out of balance the prop would wiggle I assume. My mod was a simple swap and I decided to try and with great success.

Good luck all. Enjoy your new flow...

Tried modding it, no luck, the original prop is so small and light. I tried using the black prop from a maxi jet mod kit by sureflow, even cutting it down and sanding the blades down. Barely got it to spin underwater. If there's a very very lightweight prop less than or equal to the weight of the original, that's bigger, it might work...
